Strategic counsel for high-stakes moments.

In moments of pressure, silence, speed and language all carry consequence.

McNamara Advisory

McNamara Advisory is a South Africa-based advisory practice working with organisations, boards and senior leaders locally and internationally. We provide crisis, reputation and strategic communications counsel in situations where judgement matters, scrutiny is heightened and communication carries consequence.

From preparing organisations before a crisis occurs to advising during active incidents, we help leadership teams establish the facts, assess the communication environment, anticipate stakeholder concerns and respond with clarity, discipline and sound judgement.

The practice

Counsel across the incident lifecycle.

McNamara Advisory works before, during and beyond moments of heightened reputational attention. The work is structured around the decisions leadership must make and the people who will be affected by them.

Advisory discipline

The communication environment is part of the incident.

An organisation may be managing operational, legal, regulatory and human considerations at once. Communications counsel must understand those pressures, preserve the integrity of decision-making and prepare leadership for the questions that will follow.

I

Establish the position

Clarify what is known, what remains uncertain, who is affected and which decisions are imminent.

II

Assess the environment

Consider stakeholder expectations, media interest, internal concerns and the likely direction of scrutiny.

III

Advise leadership

Prepare language, sequencing and spokespersons in alignment with operational realities and appointed legal counsel.

Engagement

Scope shaped by the matter, not by a generic package.

Engagements are scoped according to complexity, urgency and organisational requirements.

Urgent requests are prioritised according to the nature of the incident and advisor availability.
